About Pixelato
Pixelato is a browser-based studio for turning photos and drawings into pixel art, voxel scenes, math curves and ASCII art — plus a small arcade of original games. Everything works without an account; sign in to sync saves and unlock GOLD.

Pixel Editor
Turn any photo (or a live camera frame) into pixel art: palettes from Game Boy green to true 16-bit, adjustable pixel size, dithering, and export as an image, GIF/video animation, or sprite sheet. VOXEL AI, the assistant docked in the corner, can suggest a palette or pixel size for your photo and walk you through any panel — ask it anything about the tool in plain English.
Draw
A layered pixel-art canvas with a full tool belt (pencil, fill, line, shapes, selection), onion skinning for frame-by-frame animation, and a resizable canvas — free up to 512px a side, GOLD up to 2048px.
Studio (3D)
Build voxel scenes on an X×Y×Z grid — paint, extrude, apply materials — and export a still or a turntable animation. Free up to a 32-per-axis grid, GOLD up to 64.
Mathify
Math Art Studio: turn a photo's outline into a hand-drawn-looking curve made of Fourier epicycles, with copyable LaTeX/Desmos output; an equation playground with live sliders; draw-your-own curve tracing; and Mandelbrot/Julia fractal exploration.
Signify (ASCII)
Convert an image (or webcam) into ASCII/character art: multiple charsets from simple ramps to Braille and half-blocks, colour modes from monochrome to truecolour, and export as text, PNG, coloured HTML or animation.
Photo Stylizer
A lighter, faster path for pixelating just part of a photo — draw a region and blur, pixelate or swap it — with a natural-size export.

Accounts & saves
Signing in is free and syncs your saves across devices — it's not a GOLD perk. Your Account page also has a one-click "download ALL my data" backup, independent of GOLD.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to use Pixelato?
No. Every tool and game works fully signed out, saving to your browser only. Sign in only if you want your progress to follow you to another device, or want GOLD.
What's the free daily save limit?
Everyone gets 5 free saves a day, shared across every tool — an image download, a copy-to-clipboard, or an animation/video export each use one. Copying text/LaTeX, saving a work-in-progress project, and sharing to the Gallery never count. GOLD removes the limit.
What does GOLD actually unlock?
Bigger canvases and export sizes, every animation preset and video/GIF export, unlimited timeline frames, advanced region tools, the deepest Mathify and Signify detail levels, custom workspace themes, batch processing, SVG export, and cosmetic perks in the football and casual games. It never limits your saved files' quality below what free users already get — it only removes limits and adds tools.
Can I get an extra save without GOLD?
Where enabled, you can watch a short rewarded ad for one extra credit (up to 5 a day). This is off by default and only appears once it's genuinely available — there's no fake countdown standing in for it.
Is my artwork or game data sold or shared?
No. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what's stored and why — the short version is: local by default, synced to your account only if you sign in, never sold.
How do I get all my data off Pixelato?
Open your Account page and use "Download ALL my Pixelato data" — it packages every save, project and preference into one file you can keep, move to another browser, or restore from later.
I forgot my password / can't sign in.
Use "Forgot password?" on the Account page for a reset email, or "Email me a sign-in link" to skip the password entirely.
What is VOXEL AI?
VOXEL AI is the assistant built into the Pixel Editor. It can explain any control, suggest settings for the photo you've loaded, and answer questions about what a panel does — it doesn't touch your file unless you ask it to.
